About PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk and MastersCompare.co.uk

PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk is the first dedicated website in the UK to bring together all the different types of funding opportunities open to potential postgraduates, at both taught and research level, all in one place.

PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk is based in Cambridge and was launched in November 2006. On 1 November 2008 PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk became a trading division of Online Resource Pages Ltd, which publishes websites for the Higher and Further Education Communities.

In October 2009, MastersCompare.co.uk was launched as a sister site to PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk, to provide students with an opportunity to both find and compare masters level courses online.

Who are PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk and MastersCompare.co.uk for?

Students, and potential postgraduate students in particular always need two things: information, and funding. Universities and other funding providers always want to make sure they reach the best students and those most in need of their help and information.

PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk and MastersCompare.co.uk are for:

  • Undergraduates, postgraduates and graduates seeking to return to study, looking for information and funding to help them pursue a postgraduate taught or research course, including: CPE, BVC, Masters, Postgraduate Diplomas, PGCE, MPhils, PhDs and Professional Doctorates.
  • Postgraduate Course Providers at Masters level.
  • Funding providers, including academics, administrators, charities, trusts and commercial organizations that have studentships, scholarships, bursaries, grants and other awards students can compete or apply for to help them undertake postgraduate study.
  • Other advertisers who have a dedicated service or product that is genuinely relevant to postgraduates and intending postgraduates.

Jane Penrose, Director

In addition to creating websites for the Higher Education community, Jane has over fifteen years experience of working in academic marketing, moving into higher education in 1998. As Director of Graduate Marketing at King's College London, Jane gained experience in postgraduate organisational and marketing strategies, was active in the setting up of the College's first Graduate School, and led a project team to develop an interdisciplinary Professional Doctorate. She joined the Strategic Consulting Group at Euro RSCG Riley in 2005 and has worked with a range of institutions on a wide variety of projects, including developing market-aware postgraduate strategies, and launching Professional Doctorates. As well as running PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk and MastersCompare.co.uk, Jane was also a founding partner of Postgraduate Directions a specialist Postgraduate Consultancy, set up in January 2007 with Professor Howard Green and Professor Stuart Powell. Jane is a regular speaker on postgraduate market related issues at Neil Stewart Associates and UKCGE events.
