How the Site Works
Welcome to MastersCompare.co.uk, which has been set up to make it easier for you to compare the Masters courses (and other Masters level courses such as Diplomas and Certificates) you are intersted in, online. It's very easy to use, and you can save the comparisons you make and details of the individual courses you are interested in.
Step 1:
Use the site to Browse or Search through the courses that are of interest to you. You can use the main Search Box on the home page or the Browse Menus which allow you to browse by subject or University. The site went live in October 2009, so initially not all courses will be listed, but new courses are being added all the time and we are working with Universities to list courses as quickly as possible.
Step 2:
When you see a course you are interested in, you can view more details on the course, and then click on the Add to Compare button you will see beside the listing, or, if you are looking at the main course page, at the bottom. A Compare box will appear in the top right hand area of your screen, and you will see the course you have selected in the box. You can put up to 4 courses into the Compare box. When you have selected the maximum number of courses, the Add to Compare buttons will all disappear.
Step 3:
At the bottom of the Compare box, you will see a heading Compare Priorities, with 3 drop down boxes: use these boxes to select the elements of information that are most important to you when considering which course to choose. You will still be able to see all the other information about that course, but the choices you select will be moved to the top of the list so you can see them easily. Some courses may have more information available than others, depending on the information the University has chosen to aupply.
Step 4:
Click Compare Now. You will then see the courses you have selected in a convenient layout that enables you to compare key information about the courses easily, and to access further information from the Universities providing the courses. You can save this comparison if you are registered, or bookmark the page, or forward it to a friend, to to yourself, by email, for further reference. If you want to change the combination of courses you have chosen to compare, simply use the remove option in the Compare box to delete one, and add a different course if you want to. The Compare box will remain visible so you can add and delete courses you want to compare very easily at any point as you browse around the site.
