This programme is designed to help you develop your critical awareness of major issues in interaction and user experience design. It aims to improve your effectiveness as a user experience designer within industry and is beneficial to both recent graduates and those currently working within industry, advancing your knowledge and specialist skills to a higher level.

Programme information

Loughborough Design School offers a unique combination of design and specialist human factors teaching which equips students with core Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) design skills. The content of the programme therefore enables you to develop your skills and competencies in both the creative and/or analytical aspects of User Experience Design whilst working on a diverse range of projects.

Areas studied include design research methods, enterprise business and sustainability, experience design, group project, service design for social innovation, design for behaviour change, and an user experience design major project.

Please note –  This course was formally named Interaction Design and has been renamed User Experience Design to better represent its content.

Entry Requirements

MA User Experience Design entry requirements are a 1st or 2:1 relevant Honours degree. Most applicants have a design background but we consider students from a range of disciplines relevant to User Experience Design (including psychology, computer science, business studies). For those not able to provide a portfolio it is important that your personal statement explains your interest in User Experience Design.
