Study MSc Advanced Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh. Our one-year postgraduate degree programme offers the opportunity to study environmental simulation techniques and discover how these can influence wider issues in the built environment.
These entry requirements are for the 2026-27 academic year and requirements for future academic years may differ. Entry requirements for the 2027-28 academic year will be published on 1 Oct 2026.
A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in a relevant subject.
We also welcome applicants who do not meet the academic entry requirements but demonstrate relevant professional experience.
You must submit a portfolio as part of your application. Your portfolio should be one, single PDF file of no more than 10 pages. We ask you to put together a collection of visual support material of work you have done at University, professionally, or following your own interests. It can include drawings, photographs, journals and notebooks. Because of the creative nature of this programme, you need to demonstrate evidence of engagement with sustainable issues and design. We accept filesharing links.
