A master's degree and a minimum of three years' applied sector experience. You must also submit a short research proposal.
You will be invited to interview, where you must show you have recent and relevant study or practice in curation or creative practice.

You focus on how your practice functions as research, exploring where it happens, why it matters and how it generates and shares knowledge. You consider engagement, impact, and public presentation while developing your practical submission through sustained making, critical feedback and peer reflection.
You dive into research building clear frameworks, sharpening your enquiry and develop an independent voice. You deepen your understanding of theoretical paradigms in creative and curatorial practice while strengthening your project management, data collection, analysis, ethics and governance skills. You apply these approaches directly to your own professional medium or discipline.
Key methodological issues associated with various types of research in the curatorial, cultural and creative industries are explored and you produce your methodology including evidence, impact and evaluation.
You consolidate your learning through a research project, and focus on your findings, how they relate to theories and methods and how they address your research questions, aims, and objectives. You examine your outcomes, evaluating their significance, limitations, and potential for further research, while discussing the broader contribution your work makes.
Research skills are developed and you build a process for collecting, reviewing and interpreting material in your field. You produce a critical review that draws on practice, data, literature and media, allowing you to form an overview of the key frameworks surrounding your research project and question.
