The Masters in Data Science is a specialist version of the MSc (Computing Science) which will provide you with a thorough grounding in the analysis and use of large data sets together with experience of conducting a substantial development or research project focused on Data Science techniques, preparing you for responsible positions in the Big Data and IT industries.
2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in any degree with Computing as a major subject with at least 50% of credit bearing modules in Computing at an average grade of pass.
You will be well qualified for responsible software development positions, not only in the IT sector but also in many other sectors such as education, engineering, health services, financial services, government, manufacturing, retail, and transport. Expertise in Data Science & Big Data is particularly prized by employers. You will also be well qualified to proceed to a PhD in computing science.
Graduates of this programme have been employed by companies such as Scottish Water, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Expedia, EY, JP Morgan & Chase and Sky UK. Positions include Software Developer, System Designers and Data Scientists.
