Course Description

With more than one million individuals in the UK estimated to be living with dementia by 2025, there is an urgent need for solutions that help people live well with the condition.

This course will equip students with a unique range of skills and experiences providing sought-after expertise to work flexibly and effectively with people living with dementia. You will gain specialist skills enabling you to lead in the field of dementia care.

If you would be interested in the use of co-creation for research and development, working with artists and designers alongside scientists to help people with dementia and their carers then this course is for you. 
 
The Dementia Care Centre is a transdiscplinary training provider and benefits from input from a range of staff from across UWL, including psychology, nursing, hospitality, design and music. The Centre will offer expertise in transdisciplinary approaches to dementia care and opportunities to get involved in innovative projects and placements at progressive care homes. Through this course you can develop innovative solutions and design unique settings and services to help people with dementia.

Entry Requirements

You would normally be expected to have a good honours degree (2:2 or above) from a UK university, or equivalent, in any subject.

If you do not meet the academic requirements you may still qualify for entry through relevant work experience.

Offers will be subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS check).
