This course will take a holistic look at the health of the ageing female athlete. You'll learn about the wellbeing of active ageing females in relation to perimenopause, menopause and more.
You'll learn to manage and optimise the health, exercise and performance parameters that are specific to this group. You'll also learn how sports medicine and clinical exercise physiology are key in supporting them. This will be taught by a full multi disciplinary team, including academics from medicine, therapy and sports science.
Appropriate prior undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above in a relevant subject area will be considered via an interview.
With the rapidly expanding uptake of female athletes and active females in sport at all levels expert support is much needed. This offers a wealth of opportunity to graduates working in this sector.
Aspiring professionals will be able to give female-specific advice and management to a variety of teams and sports. This can range from recreational or amateur all the way to professional and elite athletes.
