MSc Finance and Global Trading

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

    MSc Full-time 1 year

Course Description

Explore the complexities of finance theory and gain real-world financial trading experience on this unique full-time master’s taught by Loughborough’s experts.

Many roles across finance require a deep understanding of how financial markets operate. On this degree, you’ll build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of finance before gaining first-hand experience of trading across multiple asset classes and products using industry-standard trading software and live prices.

Develop your financial expertise alongside vital professional skills

Spend your first semester studying with students on our MSc Finance master’s, exploring core topics such as corporate finance and quantitative methods, plus either financial reporting or fintech. You’ll also start a year-long skills-based module that will set you up with the practical tools you’ll need from the outset of your career, including communication, presentation and teamwork skills.

Derivatives and behavioural finance are the core subjects for semester two – and you’ll have the chance to study other finance topics including portfolio management, and financial statements analysis and valuations.

Dive into the world of trading on our experiential module

What gives this programme additional real-world relevance is the immersive summer Global Financial Trading module – the highlight for many of our students.

Delivered by experienced professional traders from ZISHI, this intensive six week work-based module runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, giving you the chance to develop the professional working skills and discipline employers demand.

A 2:2 honours degree with a minimum of 55% or equivalent international qualification in a subject with a quantitative element such as business, accounting, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry, geography, computer science or data analytics.
