Course Description

Two-year programme focusing on connections and comparisons across different parts of the world in the early modern and modern eras. Students study for one year at both King_s and Georgetown, and choose from an exceptional range of options that cover all regions of the globe and a variety of transnational themes. Leads to further research or careers in education, journalism, finance, politics and cultural sectors. 

Entry Requirements

We welcome applicants with strong analytical, language, and writing skills who are seeking an MA program offering integrated comparative historical perspectives. The program will consider applicants who have completed a BA or equivalent degree in History, a social science, or literature and culture. In exceptional cases, we will consider strong applicants with majors in other fields. An undergraduate GPA above 3.3 is expected, and above 3.5 is encouraged. For applicants applying from the United Kingdom, the minimum requirement is a good upper second-class BA degree in History or a cognate discipline. Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) will be required as a precondition for consideration. Non-native speakers of English will be required to meet either the Georgetown Graduate School_s minimum score on the TOEFL exam or the King_s College School of Arts & Humanities_ minimum English language requirements.
