Course Description

Our MA in Media History is an interdisciplinary Master’s course that draws on the research strengths and expertise of staff in the Department of History and Welsh History and the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies.  It seeks to combine both theoretical and historical approaches to give students an in-depth and closely historicised understanding of the modern mass media in Britain and beyond. It also provides the research training necessary to embark on your own independent research in the field of media history.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of a good undergraduate degree 2.2 (UK) equating to a mark of 56.5 or above and accompanying references. European and International applicants can find their grade equivalence on our website. Those who are not graduates must satisfy the university that they are of the required academic standard to pursue postgraduate study.

English Language Requirements: If you have a Bachelor’s degree from a UK University, you do not need to take an English proficiency test. Non-native English speakers who do not meet this requirement must take a University-recognised test of academic English language proficiency.
