Course Description

From the bench to the bedside — help to transfer neuroscience and pharmacological discoveries into clinical use. Study topics from the principles of drug design and development to the clinical aspects of the management of major neurological diseases. The clinical component is unique to this course and ties together the scientific, clinical and personal aspects of neurological disease.

Entry Requirements

A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or a related discipline.

Applicants with a 2:2 degree will be considered on an individual basis.

Module Details

You will study topics such as the principles of drug design and development, in particular the key steps involved in the drug discovery and development process, and learn about clinical trial design and methodology. You will also critically discuss the challenges associated with developing better therapies in various diseases and gain insight into the regulatory environment. Furthermore, you will be able to gain state of the art expertise in areas such as brain tumours, pain, neurodegenerative diseases and neuroinflammation, neurotrauma and stem cells therapeutics, and this will be delivered through specialised interactive sessions with world leading experts in the field.
