Study Details: 3 years
Our DClinDent Periodontology programme provides academic, professional, clinical and research training. Gain the skills to become a specialist in periodontology.
Throughout the course you will move from simulated treatment to patient treatment in our own Dental Clinic. You'll be supported by internationally renowned academics and specialist experts from around the UK and the world.
You will complete clinical training supplemented with seminars, lectures, journal clubs, complex multidisciplinary case-based discussions and research expertise.
At the end of your training, you will be able to apply for the Royal College Membership examination and become a specialist in periodontics.
Applicants should be an experienced dentist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience on commencement of the course
Applicants must be registered with an appropriate regulatory body and be a practising dentist
For all students for whom English is not their first language, proof of competence in English Language as evidenced by IELTS 6.5 (with no component score lower than 6.0) or equivalent. This must be submitted at the time of their application
All suitable applicants will be interviewed which will include a discussion of the proposed research area
Satisfactory Occupational Health Clearance and DBS are required
Applicants are required to submit a CV and portfolio of 10 clinical cases to detail academic and professional experience and two references, including one from a Senior Practitioner or Manager with their application.
A DClinDent Periodontology provides the opportunity to qualify as a specialist in periodontics. A doctorate qualification will allow you to pursue an academic career in the future.
You will also be able to apply for the membership examinations of the Royal Colleges for Periodontics (MRD).
