This fully online postgraduate degree is ideal for education professionals who are committed to advancing their practice and driving improvement within their educational settings. It is particularly suited to teachers, trainers, lecturers, and education managers who wish to critically engage with current research, policy, and professional development strategies.
Whether you are looking to enhance your leadership capabilities, develop expertise in coaching and mentoring, or explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning, this programme provides a flexible and reflective space to deepen your knowledge and impact. It is also well-suited for those aiming to influence educational practice at a strategic level or pursue further academic research.
Normally, you will have at least an upper second class (2.1) honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, and appropriate work experience.
Your application form must be accompanied by a 250-word reflective statement. Your statement should include information about your professional teaching experience and the area(s) you wish to research during your master's-level project.
Two references highlighting your potential to produce master's-level (level 7) academic work will be required. In particular, we need information about your professional teaching experience, so please encourage your referees to provide this information if they are able to.
Graduates of the MEd Professional Development in Education are well-equipped for a wide range of career opportunities that involve leading, mentoring, and innovating within educational settings.
By the end of the course, we anticipate that you will have developed reflective and critical capabilities, alongside the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to a variety of educational challenges within your organisation.
