What is an MRes?

A Master of Research (MRes) is different from usual postgraduate Masters degrees because it focuses more heavily on a larger independent research project (under the oversight of an academic supervisor). This MRes course is structured in a module format, with two taught research training modules (Methods and Measurement in the Social Sciences; & Data Analysis, Replication and Dissemination) as well as the MRes Independent Project module, and the course involves completing structured assessments for each of these modules, so this course follows the postgraduate taught regulations, even with the heavier research focus.
