Our MSc Sound for Film and Television postgraduate degree covers all the most relevant areas of film and TV sound capture, mix and delivery.
The programme has been specially created to respond to the growing demand for technical audio professionals, who play a vital role in modern film and television production.
By studying this course, you'll gain hands-on, industry-specific skills and graduate with a creative professional portfolio that demonstrates your expertise.
Applicants should have one of the following:
A good honours degree (1st, 2:1 or 2:2) in Music, Music Technology, Music Performance, or a related discipline (or an equivalent international qualification)
or
A minimum of five years’ professional industry experience, assessed at the discretion of the Admissions Team or Programme Tutor.
All applicants are expected to demonstrate a solid prior knowledge of standard music studio equipment and its functions, along with practical experience using a range of common audio software platforms.
This course will boost your employability, providing the skills and expertise needed for a variety of industry roles.
You'll be well-prepared for a career in sound recording, editing and mixing for film and TV productions.
Our graduates have gone on to work in location recording, film sound, studio engineering, content creation, sound installation, music publishing, journalism, teaching and research at doctoral level.
