The MSc Applied Bioscience Skills for Industry has been designed to meet the increasing requirement of the industrial scientific sectors for high-quality science graduates who not only possess outstanding laboratory skills but also have a clear understanding of the procedures and legislation that are essential to conduct high-class research in an industrial environment.
Developed in consultation with industry, this course will give you the skills employers have told us are often lacking in science degree graduates to appraise scientific problems; design and execute experimental programmes; and understand quality and intellectual property issues. Scientific research will draw on the considerable research-teaching linkages that exist within the university. Successful completion of the course will enhance your employment prospects in a highly competitive market.
2:1 honours degree in a biological or biomedical sciences subject, applicants with a 2:2 honours degree will be considered on an individual basis.Or a postgraduate diploma or professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to an honours degree.
The university is pleased to offer a limited numbers of places with full tuition fee support for Scottish/EU students, studying full time, on this course starting in September 2018 to help talented students join this key growth sector for the Scottish economy. Fees will be funded by the European Social Fund and Scottish Funding Council as part of Developing Scotland’s Workforce in the Scotland 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Fund Programmes.
In 2018/19 per module (20 credits): Scottish (inc EU) on-site £674; Rest of UK on-site £840. International on-site £1190. Masters degree is 6 modules + dissertation
