Course Description

Brazil in Global Perspective offers a distinctive approach to understanding recent changes in Brazil and the causes and impacts of its social, cultural, economic and political development. Our programme equips you with conceptual and research tools for the critical analysis of contemporary issues in Brazil and allows you to study Brazil in global and comparative perspective.

Bachelor’s degree with 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent).

Student Destinations

Our programme aims to prepare you for both research and non-academic professional careers in government, business and the corporate sector, international agencies and NGOs, and policy research.

Optional Modules

Students may choose up to two modules taught by the affiliated faculties below, ie up to 40 credits:

  • Department of Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies
  • Lau China Institute
  • King’s Russia Institute
  • King’s International Development Institute
  • King’s India Institute
  • Other departments in the Schools of Arts & Humanities and Social Science & Public Policy

Students can also take a Level 6 Portuguese Graduate Language Module worth 20 credits on top of the 180 credits required for the programme, thus bringing their total number of credits to 200

Students must choose at least two of the modules below taught by the Brazil Institute, ie at least 40 credits:
