Corporate governance is a crucial part of corporate performance and accountability, and professionals in this field are in demand across all sectors of industry. This LLM Corporate Governance and Law/Grad ICSA degree course is designed for law and non-law graduates, practising lawyers and business professionals. You’ll be eligible, after you graduate, for the GradICSA qualification from ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators), and if you have relevant work experience you may also be able to apply for ACIS status (Associate in the Chartered Institute of Secretaries).

This course is available to study on either a full-time or part-time basis. Graduates of subjects other than law will undertake a compulsory module to introduce them to some core principles of English law.

Module Details:

Law Route

If you’re a law graduate on the full-time course, you’ll study the following compulsory modules:

  • Corporate Law and Governance
  • Corporate Secretarial Practice and Strategy
  • Financial Reporting, Analysis and Decision-making
  • Dissertation or Case Study

And choose from the following options:

  • CILEX Level 6 (this module is only available to those who hold a UK qualifying law degree)
  • Community Legal Research Project
  • Employment Law (this module is compulsory if you have not studied Employment Law at undergraduate level)
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • International and European Human Rights Law
  • International Commercial Arbitration
  • Work-based Learning
  • Commercial and Consumer Law
  • Theory of Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Negotiation Theory and Practice

Non-Law Route

Those who do not hold a UK law degree or equivalent will be enrolled on the non-law route and will undertake the following modules:

  • Corporate Law Governance
  • Corporate Secretarial Practice and Strategy
  • Financial Reporting, Analysis and Decision-making
  • Legal Approach to Business
  • Dissertation or Corporate Secretarial Case Study

Fees
