This programme gives you the flexibility to improve various aspects of your professional practice and to choose a course of study most suitable to your role, employer’s priorities, career-stage or interests.

Options may include:

  • Career relevant  – specialist modules for mentors, newly qualified and early career teachers providing skills development relevant to your particular career stage or role
  • Subject related – explore specific areas such as special educational needs, maths, science, language and literacy, or the arts
  • Technology and innovation – learn how digital technology and other innovations can support your teaching practice
  • Special focus – reflect on particular areas of your professional practice, investigate relevant theories and best practice, and help find solutions to your particular education challenges

Study Details:

MA 3 years part-time campus-based/distance learning/blended learning

Module Details:

You may choose freely from our full range of MA Education modules* and write a dissertation on a subject of your choice. 

This will either consist of taught modules to the value of 120 credits and a dissertation worth 60 credits, or a combination of modules, dissertation and accredited prior learning or experience.

Highly flexible, it caters for educators with a diverse range of experience, development needs, and study requirements. It is suitable for teachers, those in leadership or policy-making roles, and other practitioners working in education or related settings.

You may choose an individually constructed programme, or follow a specialist route which may be reflected in your degree title. You may study full-time or part-time, and choose to study on campus or via blended or distance learning.
