This course will teach you how to create a fashion range by integrating trends analysis, buying, merchandising, design and garment technology functions. You will excel in maximising turnover and minimising the inventory risk by creating commercially balanced groups of design options and effective lead times, pricing and sourcing strategies that conveys the brand DNA while promoting the commercial success of its products.

You will develop in depth understanding of the key role of a fashion buyer and merchandiser; from professional competencies and essential retail strategy and operations to personal attributes. You will study the commercial implications for product ranges and supply chain strategies for both UK and overseas markets in an omni-channel environment. The course puts emphasis on digital developments and sustainable strategies for fashion buying and merchandising.

Disclaimer (trips): You must have all necessary visas ready at least 8 weeks before the first day of your trips. We have a dedicated International Office who will provide you with guidance on obtaining the necessary visas for the countries you are due to visit.

There is an alternative (non-international) version of this course for students who can’t attend the compulsory international trips.

We are unable to guarantee the international trips until the Covid-19 government restrictions surrounding international travel are lifted. If by the beginning of your course the restrictions are still in place, you will be transferred to the non-international visits version of this course, which follows an identical structure without the international trips and replacement assessments.
