Our innovative Pre-sessional programmes teach you the academic and language skills you need to succeed in your chosen degree and are an alternative to retaking an external English test.
Over 98% of students met the conditions to progress to their chosen degree at King’s in 2019. In 2020, we offered an Online Pre-sessional and 93% of students would recommend online study to a friend. In the last three years, our Pre-sessional programme satisfaction has been at least 90%.
There are different course lengths to help you meet your offer conditions (16, 11 and 6 weeks). In addition, our tutors are experienced, highly qualified and can give you access to world-class learning.
Pre-sessional programmes in 2021 will be delivered online, allowing students to complete the 16-, 11-, or 6-week programme from anywhere in the world. All of our Pre-sessional programmes are full-time and have a significant time commitment.
The Pre-sessional has different entry requirements depending on the English language level needed by each academic department.
We can accept the same standardised tests as we do for our degree programmes. These are IELTS (UKVI or Academic), Pearson Test of English (UKVI or Academic), TOEFL iBT (including TOEFL home, where it is being offered), Cambridge and Trinity exams.
