Description

The course covers professional translation and different types of interpreting, including simultaneous and consecutive interpreting and liaison in public and commercial settings. Students have access to the latest digital interpreting suites and participate in mini-conferences to put skills into practice, holding debates on controversial topics and acting as both delegate and interpreter.

The MA Translation and Professional Languages Skills course was developed in 2003 in response to requests from employers for linguists with training in translation, editing and proofreading, among other skills. This is one of the few courses to train students in such a variety of sought-after skills, which can be used immediately in the professional market.
