LLM Law (Top Up)

Course Description

This course allows students and practitioners who have passed the Postgraduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course or the Bar Vocational Course to obtain a masters award by writing a dissertation in a specialised area of law. The course is highly flexible, allowing students to study, for the most part, at a time convenient to them. Training in research methods is provided and you will have regular meetings with a dissertation supervisor. You will study in the heart of the Leeds legal community, which is the UK’s second largest and fastest growing legal centre. If you are aspiring to a careerin law, business or other professions, the LLM top-up can help you to gain the relevant skills and knowledge.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to have at least a second class honours degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in a legal subject. Applicants who do not have English as their first language are required to have IELTS 6.5 with no skill below 5.5 or an equivalent award. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional; all applications should be accompanied by a completed dissertation proposal form.
