The Advanced Certificate Mentoring in Dental Practice is intended for dental professionals who wish to undertake the role of mentor in the dental environment.
The aim of the course is to equip members of the dental team to fulfil the role of mentor with colleagues who require support to fulfil the requirements of professional practice in Dental care or who have been the subject of Fitness to Practice review.
Applicants must be experienced dentists/dental care professionals who are currently registered with the General Dental Council, with the ability to study at Level 7 (providing evidence on the application form of study at Level 6 or above, or considerable experience of relevant professional development activities) and wanting to undertake the role of mentor.
For candidates without a current teaching qualification (e.g. Advanced Certificate Facilitating Learning in Healthcare Practice, PGCE, Cert Ed (FE), and Preparing to Teach in Life Long Learning sector qualifications) attendance at an additional introductory access day “Supporting Learning in Dental Practice” is required.
