Description

The MSc Engineering Management degree is designed to build upon a prior engineering background and focuses on enhancing managerial understanding in the engineering domain. The course aims to provide an extension beyond undergraduate study for those embarking, changing, or advancing their chosen career.

Informed by the needs of industry, this programme provides students with the opportunity to develop the strong communication skills and capabilities that employers are looking for in addition to leadership, negotiation and influencing, presentation, and self-awareness.

Students will have the opportunity to study areas including combustion and sustainable fuels, finance and accounting, energy systems, and risk management. Delivered by both the Lincoln International Business School and the School of Engineering, the programme maximises on the specialist knowledge within each School whilst ensuring both areas meld into a coherent delivery.

Following the taught element of the programme students have the opportunity to select either the Engineering Research Project or Engineering Research Project (Industry Placement).

Students selecting the Engineering Research Project (Industry Placement) have the opportunity to undertake an eight month work placement in industry. This may be with an industry partner or through an independently sourced placement. Students successfully completing this route will receive the alternative award title of MSc Engineering Management (with Professional Practice).

Entry Requirements

First or Second Class honours degree or equivalent industrial experience.

This programme is aimed at graduates from a wide breadth of engineering disciplines and no previous experience in business and management studies is required.

For those who have already studied a related discipline, this course offers the opportunity to progress your knowledge to an advanced level.
