Course Description

The MSc course in Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement provides training for students wishing to undertake a further degree in plant molecular genetics, or pursue a career in plant breeding and crop improvement with professional guidance.

Entry Requirements

Open to students with a good first degree (min 2.1 or equivalent) in Biological Sciences or Plant Biology. Candidates without a relevant degree but with previous employment in a plant breeding company or related research experience will also be considered. We welcome applications from students whose first language is not English. To ensure such students benefit from postgraduate study, we require evidence of proficiency in English. Our usual entry requirements are as follows:

  • IELTS: 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in all components)
  • PTE (Pearson): 62 (minimum 55 in all components)
