PGCE Secondary Education with QTS: Chemistry

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

    PGCE: 1 year full-time

Course Description

Accredited by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) and the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

Children are naturally curious about the world around them, which is why science is an important part of the school curriculum. If you have an interest in chemistry and want to pass on your knowledge to the younger generation, then all you need is our PGCE course. We’ll get you prepared for the exciting, challenging and rewarding career of teaching, developing your skills to turn you into a first class chemistry teacher at secondary school level.

Although this course will qualify you to specialise in teaching chemistry, you will also learn how to teach biology and physics to work as a general science teacher. We show you how to run practical lessons effectively, sharing your ideas while maintaining the interest and enthusiasm of your pupils. We are proud of the high level of practical work on our course, giving you the hands-on experience you need for future employment. Put your knowledge of science to the test by working with young people and inspiring the scientists of tomorrow.

Entry Requirements

A minimum UK 2:2 honours degree or recognised equivalent qualification in biology, chemistry or physics, depending on your chosen specialism, is required. Your degree must contain evidence of a substantial and appropriate level of subject knowledge.
