Study Details: MSc 12 months full-time, 24 months part-time
The MSc Sociology provides rigorous and in-depth training in sociological theory, methodology, and key areas of sociological research.
These areas reflect the Department’s commitment to understanding and analysing global challenges. For instance, we make important contributions to the analysis of escalating inequalities and injustices across the globe, and we draw on this research in our graduate teaching. We also have strong research clusters in economic sociology, politics and human rights, social inequalities, and urban sociology – in all these areas, optional courses will be available for you to take. Additionally, we offer a range of options in fields such as culture and society; social theory, families in contemporary societies; and science and technology studies.
Upper second class honours (2:1) degree or equivalent in a social science discipline.
Competition for places at the School is high. This means that even if you meet the minimum entry requirement, this does not guarantee you an offer of admission.
