MSc Synthetic Organic Chemistry

  • DeadlineStudy Details:

MSc Full-time: One year (three semesters)

Course Description

The aim of UCLan’s Master of Science in Synthetic Organic Chemistry course is to provide an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying modern aspects of organic chemistry.

This course blends a theoretical knowledge of advanced concepts in organic synthesis and spectroscopic analysis with industrial applications but, unlike many Masters level courses of this type, does not focus students on one particular application of organic chemistry eg, medicinal chemistry. Instead it provides training, knowledge and a perspective of a broad range of chemical industries reliant upon organic chemistry.

Entry Requirements

Specific entry requirements for this course are that a student must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Honours degree of the level 2.2 or above from a United Kingdom university or its equivalent.
  • Degree or HNC or HND in an appropriate discipline, together with appropriate professional experience
  • Qualification or experience deemed to be equivalent to any of the above

Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications or relevant work / life experience who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from masters-level studies are especially welcome to apply, and may be interviewed.
