UK Masters Loans - Overview

Applications for 2017/18 UK Postgraduate Loans are now open.

Postgraduate loans from the government are now available for home students to study at universities across the United Kingdom. EU students continue to be able to apply for UK postgraduate loans in 2017/18.

The postgraduate loan can be used to study a Masters anywhere in the UK, although you will usually need to apply to the relevant Student Finance office of the country you normally live in (not necessarily where you last studied).

England: Students can now apply for a £10,280 Postgraduate Loan for 2017/18. Students who accessed the loan in 2016/17 do not need to reapply for the loan - you will automatically receive payments.

Wales: Students in Wales starting a postgraduate Master’s course from 1 August 2017 can now apply for a Postgraduate Loan.

Scotland:The Scottish government has confirmed plans for £10,000 Masters loans in 2017.

Northern Ireland: Applications for the postgraduate tuition fee loans for 2017/18 are now open.
