MSc: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time

Our MSc Sustainable Development takes a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to exploring the economic, environmental, and social issues surrounding sustainability policy. We take a practical and problem-based approach to learning, focusing on both the study of sustainable development and its implementation in a range of professional contexts. This balance between theory and its application is designed to enhance your career and employment prospects.

Module details

The programme provides you with the opportunity to focus your study by choosing two optional modules on a named pathway, as detailed below. The pathways are not compulsory, and you are free to choose your 45 additional credits from the range of optional modules available.

Pathway 1: Environment, Human Health and Wellbeing comprises optional modules HPDM029 and HPDM030.
Pathway 2: Environmental Change comprises optional modules GEOM363B and HUMM011.
Pathway 3: Sustainability and Governance comprises optional modules GEOM166 and GEOM167.
Pathway 4: Managing Complex Systems comprises optional modules GEOM247 and GEOM165.

Entry Requirements

We usually require a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
