Archaeological Studies (by research) MA

Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time, MA 2 years Part-time

The course is designed for students who wish to prepare themselves for research in any aspect of archaeology.

The course provides the preliminary training year for students intending to proceed to doctoral studies, and appeals especially to those students whose chosen field requires specific or concentrated teaching unavailable through other taught Master courses. The degree is also suitable for students who can spend only 1 year in postgraduate research, for example those already employed within the profession who wish to enhance their academic qualifications in a specific area.

Entry Requirements

Applicants require a UK 2:1 or international equivalent in the relevant subject. For research programmes, you must submit your research proposal with your application. We often recommend that you seek advice from your potential supervisor (i.e. the member of staff who shares your research interests).
If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
