Criminology and Social Research MA

Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time, MA 2 years Part-time

In this course, you will analyse crime, deviance and social control and conduct research to examine their impact on society.

In the criminology modules, you'll gain a deeper understanding of why some people are motivated to offend and how this behaviour can shape our communities and our responses to crime.

In the social research methods modules, you will develop practical skills and techniques in qualitative and quantitative research.

Entry Requirements

You should have either an undergraduate degree (usually at 2.1 or above) in sociology, criminology or a cognate discipline, a professional qualification or relevant professional experience.
If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
