The Department and University have a prominent international reputation in public economics and in the use of economics in the design of social policy. This programme offers students a thorough foundation in the tools required to analyse aspects of public policy.

This programme is designed for: those working in the public sector, public administration, government departments, the NHS, international agencies and elsewhere who wish to upgrade their existing skills; those who want to build on their existing degrees in economics by obtaining further knowledge and expertise in more specialised areas; Those with a background in disciplines such as government, sociology, mathematics or natural sciences, but without a strong background in economics.

Entry Requirements

Minimum entry criterion is the equivalent of an upper 2nd Class degree primarily in economics from a UK university.
