The MA in European Gender and Equality Studies is a 2-year, full-time programme of 240 UK credits (120 ECTS). It is run in conjunction with six other European partner universities: Abo Akademi, Finland; Université de Lausanne, Switzerland; Université de Lyon 2, France; Université Toulouse-Le Mireil, France; Universidad Autonoma Barcelona, Spain; and University of Bucharest, Romania.

At the University of York, students take two compulsory modules (Difference, Diversity and Change; Work, Politics and Culture) as well as a selection of research methods and optional modules. These will be agreed with the supervisor they are allocated on arrival. You will also be allocated a dissertation supervisor at York, and will complete your dissertation at York.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are normally require to have a Bachelor degree in relevant subject to 2.1 standard or equivalent and/or relevant experience (through work; volunteering; or similar) language requirement: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent in English; AS level plus 1 additional year language training (minimum) or equivalent in French/Spanish for mobility period to any partner institution except Abo Akademi University where IIELTS 6.5 is required (classes taught in English).
