Global Literature and Culture MA

Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time, MA 2 years Part-time

This MA offers an unusually wide-ranging exploration of the cultural manifestations of colonial conquest, national identities, anti-colonial resistance and post-colonial struggles. You will have the opportunity to study these interconnected histories from the beginnings of European imperialism to the present day, and to choose from modules offered in the Departments of English, History, Politics and History of Art, and in the Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies. The range of modules allows for a comparative understanding of different forms of imperial rule, and encourages a comparative approach to African, Asian, Irish, Middle Eastern and Pacific responses to the experience of colonisation

Entry Requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent qualification. However, if you have relevant work experience with good academic potential you may also be considered.
If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
