Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time

Interconnections between economics and politics are deep and take centre stage in this course. This course is tailor-made to suit a wide range of students with interests in the two disciplines and the relation between them. There are a variety of optional modules available: Economics and Politics prepares students for a wide range of careers, including careers in economics and politics, finance, international organisations and international development. It also provides essential research training for doctoral study in economics.

Core Module includes: the PPE of Social Choice; Research Skills for PPE; Applied Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics; Dissertation.

Students also choose from a wide range of options offered by the Economics and Politics departments.

Entry Requirements

The MA is open to those with a good 1st degree (i.e. an upper 2nd or equivalent) in any subject. Students with no prior knowledge of economics at undergraduate level are usually required to attend the economics summer session.
If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
