Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time, MA 2 years Part-time

This course has been specifically designed to develop your methodological skills and research techniques, providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake study at doctorate level or to follow a career in academia, government or commercial research; introduce you to the key elements of social research, providing you with access to knowledgeable staff and allowing you to explore key sociological areas such as culture, criminology, political economy, psychology, philosophy and psychoanalysis; gain in-depth knowledge of a range of research methods, develop the most effective techniques to observe and conduct interviews and you will become proficient in the dissemination of information gathered; introduced to a range of statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, and regression analysis, but also innovative techniques, such as multiple correspondence analysis.

Entry Requirements

You will be expected to have at least a 2: 1 honours degree in a relevant subject.
