Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages MA

Study Details

MA 1 year Full-time

This course is a 12-month full-time taught MA programme designed for students who plan to teach English as a second/foreign language in the UK or internationally or to do research on the teaching, learning or assessment of English as a second/foreign language. The programme is designed primarily for people with little or no prior experience of English language teaching, but who have a relevant first degree (English Language/Linguistics or Education with a substantial English component) and who intend to be an English teacher or researcher. This is an academic programme of study and not a teacher training course.

Entry Requirements

Degree requirements are UK 2.1 or above; USA grade point average 3.2 or above; PR China average degree score 80 or above.
If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
