MPhil 2 years Full-time, MPhil 4 years Part-time, PhD 3 years Full-time, PhD 6 years Part-time

Each year there are approximately 35 students studying for research degrees. Throughout their period of registration, students are given specialised research supervision in their main area of study.

The department offers supervision in a wide range of Women's Studies, providing research; taught module; transferable skills programme; research seminars. Some of the current areas of research: Feminist theory, theories of gender and sexuality, women's and family relationships, sociology of childhood; Women's cultural production; contemporary women's theatre; Women's Studies as a discipline; feminist methodology diaspora and postcoloniality; lesbian writing. feminist cultural production and activism; popular and digital cultures; contemporary women’s writing.

Entry Requirements

Relevant postgraduate experience.
