PhD Programme:

The Rosalind Franklin Institute is an imaging technologies development institute, funded by the UK government, which harnesses physical sciences to understand both non-communicable and communicable disease and their effects on the body.  We drive bold and innovative technology development through interdisciplinary collaborations across our scientific research teams.  We harness the physical sciences to develop our understanding of infection and the body’s response to it.  This includes building a unique multimodal imaging mass spectrometer and using electron microscopy to allow the imaging of biological molecules in motion.

We are recruiting open-minded students from any scientific, mathematical, engineering or computing discipline to work on the development of instruments across our research teams.
