MSc Economics programmes – overview
Durham’s Master’s in Economics programmes are designed for students looking to build careers in economics, finance, policymaking, consultancy, analytics or research. In one intensive year, you’ll develop advanced analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills valued by employers worldwide.
You’ll explore economic theory and its application to real-world challenges, while developing expertise in areas such as financial economics, behavioural science, data analysis and policy. In today’s increasingly data-driven world, we also offer two optional modules focused on practical data science, with applications to economic problems: Data Analytics and Machine Learning.
To add further value to your studies, we offer the City of London field trip, a guest speakers series featuring leading academics and practitioners, plus international opportunities, including Summer School and Dissertation Abroad options. These provide valuable global experience to help you stand out in a competitive job market.
