Facilities

Solent’s media academy offers a comprehensive media loans scheme, giving students free access to a range of modern tv and filmmaking equipment. It is also home to three green-screen studios, a large visual recording studio, digital cinema with Dolby Atmos sound system, sound and colour-grading suite, 70 fibre-networked Adobe Premiere and FCP X edit workstations, over 30 Avid Media Composer edit workstations, a 5.1 surround ADR /Foley dubbing suite, and a range of industry standard post-production facilities. We also have an extensive media equipment store that includes over 3,000 items to hire, including: industry-standard (HD) cinema cameras and DSLR full-frame lenses, professional lighting and high-end audio equipment. And as Solent is an Adobe Creative Campus, all students also have free access to Adobe Creative Cloud.

Skills

As well as developing your skills on our industry-standard equipment, you can put them into practice through our in-house agencies; Solent Productions and Solent TV, enabling you to gain work experience for your professional showreel. You’ll also have the opportunity to take professional qualifications with the Avid Certified User exam and the Pro Tools Certified User certificate.

Funding options

We have several academic scholarships available which are rewarded based on your entry grades. We also offer a sport scholarship to those competing at national or international level in their sport.
