Masters funding opportunities at University of Dundee

Masters and Taught Courses in Scotland

The University of Dundee’s origins date back to 1881, when it was founded as University College, Dundee. Today, we are one of the UK’s top 30 universities (The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019). Our students also rate us highly – with overall satisfaction being 2nd in the UK and 6th globally in the most recent International Student Barometer survey (Autumn 2018).

Why Dundee for postgraduate study

With over 200 taught postgraduate courses to choose from, you’re sure to find something to challenge and inspire you. You’ll also benefit from studying at a university with high rates of graduate employment – in fact, we were rated 1st in Scotland and 6th in the UK for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide 2019), with 96.4% of our graduates being in work or further study six months after graduation (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Survey, 2018). We also offer a number of fantastic opportunities for you to join the University of Dundee as a research student.

Our research is highly rated by the most recent Research Excellence Framework (2014), which assesses the quality and impact of research submitted by universities across the UK. Dundee was named the top UK University for biological sciences, and achieved excellent results across the STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering & mathematics – where the University’s quality profile was the highest in Scotland. Furthermore, 76% of the University’s research was found to be ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

Accommodation

Whilst you study with us, our accommodation is your home from home. We have campus accommodation specifically for postgraduate students, so you’re never more than a few minutes from the library or any of our campus facilities. Alternatively, if you prefer to stay off campus, our Students’ Association (DUSA) can provide you with assistance.

Our scholarships

We want to attract the best and most creative students to Dundee, but we understand that studying can be quite a financial commitment. That’s why we offer a wide range of generous scholarship opportunities, such as our Global Excellence Scholarship, which provides up to £5,000 per year to our most inspiring and ambitious applicants.

With high-quality postgraduate courses, world-leading research, and a compact, friendly campus in the heart of the city, it’s no wonder the University of Dundee attracts first-class students from across the globe. With our prestigious reputation and student-first approach, you can be sure you’re making a great choice for your future career.

The City of Dundee

Dundee is ideally situated on the east coast of Scotland, and our university has the perfect blend of state of the art facilities and beautiful architecture. What’s more, you’re never far from a historic building or stunning scenery. We have one of the highest proportions of people in full-time higher education across the UK – at around 1-in-7 of the population, and our city is famously friendly and open. We’re also said to have more hours of sunshine, the purest air and more green spaces than any other city in Scotland – the perfect place to study.

As the UK’s only UNESCO City of Design, Dundee has also been named “Scotland’s coolest city” by The Wall Street Journal, and one of the world’s top destinations to visit by Bloomberg.
