Course Description

The Advanced Physiotherapy MSc provides high quality continuing professional development opportunities for physiotherapists from the UK and overseas.

Core modules on the course focus on the four pillars of advanced practice (clinical practice, leadership, education and research) and help you to develop complex decision-making skills, apply evidence-based practice and develop innovative solutions that will enhance patient, family and carer experience and improve clinical outcomes.

This course is open to applicants from the UK and overseas, supporting a multicultural exchange of clinical knowledge and approaches and giving an exciting extra dimension to learning.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements listed here are our typical offer for this course if you wish to begin studying with us in 2021. They should be used as a general guide. 

Degree and experience
This course is for qualified physiotherapists. Applicants should hold an honours degree in physiotherapy but those with suitable alternative qualifications, such as a diploma in physiotherapy, will be considered.

A minimum of two years of physiotherapy post-registration work experience is required for entry to this course.

If you do not meet these entry requirements and wish to start a career in this challenging and rewarding career, you could look at our Physiotherapy BSc(Hons) or if you already have a degree you may be eligible to apply for our accelerated Physiotherapy (pre-registration) MSc.

English language requirements
IELTS 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.

International students whose language skills do not match the IELTS scores set out here should consider applying for this course through the Extended Masters programme at the university’s Language Institute.
