Masters Degree Description

The course emphasises the four pillars of both physiotherapy and the NHS practice, working with acute patients, those managing long-term conditions and supporting preventative health. It aims to enhance your prior learning, preparing you for work in the UK and abroad.

  • As a qualified physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to apply your previous learning and experience to expand your skill set and develop leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Expands your clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills and evidence-informed practice, through research-inspired teaching and the use of industry-standard facilities, such as simulation.

Entry Requirements

An honours degree 2:2 or above (or international equivalent) in physiotherapy.

On successful completion of this course, you can expect to be able to:

  • develop a systematic understanding of the biopsychosocial model of health and disease, then integrate the principles of the biopsychosocial model and values-based healthcare into the assessment, treatment and management of clients with a range of common and complex problems

  • design and conduct original research relevant to physiotherapy practice, disseminate your findings to a variety of audiences and contribute to evidence-based practice.
