Study Details: MSc/PGDip/PGCert Full-time – January start, 15 months. September start, 12 months. Part-time – January start, 33 months. September start, 28 months.
Develop your skills in major areas of biomedical science, including molecular cell biology, biomedical genetics and specialised topics in medical diagnostics. You’ll focus on rapidly-evolving research into the applications of bioscience in healthcare whilst working in our impressive Cambridge Science Centre laboratories.
Throughout our course you’ll develop advanced knowledge and skills in the diverse areas of applied bioscience, emphasising on medical applications You’ll also develop a comprehensive understanding of advanced analytical techniques. Upon completion of your Masters, you’ll be able to confidently design, execute and critically analyse both independent and group based scientific research in an appropriate area of applied bioscience.
A first or second class Honours Degree (2:1 or 2:2), based in a science related degree or cognate subject, from a UK Higher Education Institution, or its equivalent, or the equivalent in experiential learning (a minimum of five years of qualifying employment). All applicants will be required to demonstrate their preparedness for the modules in Applied Bioscience. Healthcare is a rapidly growing and constantly evolving sector. MSc Applied Bioscience course encourages the development of specialist cross-disciplinary laboratory skills, such as molecular genetics and bioinformatics, accompanied by an emphasis on professional practice.
