You’ll advance your knowledge in medical applications diagnostics and treatments within a real-world healthcare setting and work alongside passionate experts in a state-of-the-art lab at our £45m Science Centre. You’ll conclude your studies with your own biotechnology-focused research project.
Upon graduation you'll be able to confidently design execute and critically analyse both independent and group based scientific research in an appropriate area of biotechnology including academic clinical and industrial sectors.
You can choose to study full-time part-time or take advantage of our unique two-year full-time option which includes professional experience modules in the second year. This gives you the opportunity to apply your learning in a real-life industry setting and further enhance your employability.
You'll need a first-class honours degree or an upper-second (2:1) in a science related subject or cognate subject from a UK Higher Education Institute or equivalent or the equivalent in experiential learning (a minimum of five years of qualifying employment).
Applicants with a 2:2 in a related degree may be considered and may be required to partake in an interview.
All students are expected to be proficient in English and must fulfil or exceed the standard University requirements. For those students for whom English is not their main language English certification at IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required.
