The LLM in Corporate Law provides an in-depth knowledge of the legal, economic, financial, and governance matters covering the most relevant aspects in the lifecycle of a corporation.
These entry requirements are for the 2026/27 academic year and requirements for future academic years may differ. Entry requirements for the 2027/28 academic year will be published on 1 July 2026.
A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in law.
We will also consider candidates with a degree in a related discipline which includes relevant prior study.
In evaluating your application for postgraduate study, greater emphasis may be placed upon results of prior learning in subjects relevant to the intended degree programme.

You must complete 180 credits of study – 60 credits are taken in the compulsory dissertation and the remaining 120 credits are taken in taught courses.

Corporation Law and Economics (20 credits, must be taken in Semester 1)
Comparative Corporate Governance (20 credits, must be taken in Semester 2)
Core courses
You must select between 20 to 80 credits from the following list:
Company Law (40 credits, full-year course)
Insolvency Law (20 credits)
Applied Corporate Law (20 credits)
Option courses
You can select between 0 and 40 credits from the following optional courses:
Principles of Banking Law (20 credits)
Principles of Financial Transactions (20 credits)
Corporate Finance and Law (20 credits)
Advanced Capital Markets Law (20 credits)
Sustainability in Food Supply Chains: Law and Policy (20 credits)
Additionally, you have the option to select 0 to 20 credits from a broader list of LLM courses in the School of Law.
